My PC is in my spare room, i have a Beyonwiz PVR connected to my TV in my lounge room. The distance from my PC to the Beyonwiz is approx 5 metres through a wall.

I have a Netgear DGN2000 wireless Modem/router attached to the PC, and i had a D-Link DWL-G810 connected to the Beyonwiz's RJ45 port and was able to stream movies (non HD) to my TV thru the Beyonwiz.

Now my DWL-G810 has died, and i have tried a multitude of Modem/routers/routers connected to the Beyonwiz, but cannot seem to get the DGN2000 or any of the routers to see each other. I have input the exact same configuration as the G810 had but nothing works, Is it possible to use a modem/router or just a router to connect the same way as the G810 did. ?

If not what would be the closest thing to the DWL-G810 but using "N" instead of "G"

Thanks

I think you might be mistaking the D-Link DWL-G810 for a router, in reality it's a wireless bridge which was connected to your Netgear DGN2000 wirelessly.

So you would need another network bridge or AP "access point" to replace it, you also mentioned that you wanted wireless N capiblity.

I can recommend the same AP-bridge I'm using which is the D-link DAP-1522. It's an excellent wireless bridge or AP so you can use it wired as an AP or wirelessly as a bridge. I have no problems streaming HD movies out to my garage with it.

Thank You chev65, Yes the DWL-G810 was just a wireless Bridge/access point...I thought (mistakenly) that i might be able to use one of the Wireless modem/routers that i have laying around as the same sort of thing, but obviously not  Thank you for the recommendation on the DAP 1522, i'll check it out.

cheers
