Hello all,
I am trying to get Stereo Mix working on my windows 7 system. I have it so that it is enabled, and set to default. I also have my Logitech G35 USB headset plugged into my system. What I want is to use it for the tutorial videos I create with Camtasia studio 6. On Camtesia I have the audio also set to Stereo Mix. The problem is when I speak, the Stereo Mix does not register my sound on the meter. I have tried various sound inputs whiel recording, whiel set to Stereo Mix on Camtasia and it does not record.

Any ideas??

Have you set the "Recording" device to the USB mic? And set the recording input on the Camtesia to mic? You may have to do that to get it working. A standard analog computer mic may work OK with the Stereo Mix function.

That USB mic should be set as the Default Recording device as Fireberd mentioned.

It's under Control Panel > Sounds > Recording

Simply select which audio device to set as the default, right click, "Set as Default" =D

Hope I helped!

Matt~

I have tried the USB as default, which is the normal setting I use for it. I have not switched camtesia back to mic setting, as I figured this would turn off the stereo mix option. And I use a full headset combo as I do daily broadcasts as well, soa analog desk mic just won't handle it for me.

When you speak into the USB mic, does windows see it spike?

Under Control Panel > Sounds > Recording, do you see the little green bar move up and down?

I'm guessing you do, but sadly I am not versed in Camtesia.

Sorry that I can't be of more help.

The meter spikes when I have camestia set to mic setting, but not when stereo mix is set. Also in the Control Panel > Sounds > Recording under stereo mix is does not register as well.
