I need to set permissions to allow access to a computer in safe mode (w/ networking), both machines are on LAN and I tried it reversed and works fine (safe mode computer controlling normal computer) - I tried following the steps here but there's no "Remote Desktop" category with the three options in safe mode. Is there any way to access that menu?

The problem isn't a matter of permissions or access to a menu. In safe mode only essential services and drivers are loaded. That is what makes Safe Mode "safe". Remote Desktop requires that the "Remote Desktop Services" service be running along with associated device drivers. By design they do not run in Safe Mode.

I don't think making Remote Desktop work in Safe Mode is going to be easy.

Why do you need to do this?

Well my graphics card crapped out so I went and got a new one that I thought was compatible with my mobo, and it sort of is lol (BIOS works with card but beyond that the screen is black other than a "0_" in the corner). Apparently windows is booting just fine according to someone in this thread - I don't have a 2nd gpu to throw in there so was gonna try to remotely install the drivers on the sort of working card/pc.

edit - I borrowed a little gpu from a spare computer at work and installed the driver that way, working fine now!
