Need to press enter everytimes when i start my laptop

Presario CQ42 Notebook pc
Inter(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU 2.40GHz



When i start my computer, it says:

SMART Hard Disk Error
The Smart Hard Disk check has detected an imminent failure. To ensure not data loss, please backup the content immediately and run the Hard Disk Test in System Diagnostics.

It means what it says. Your hard disk is reporting failure. It could fail in a year, a month, a week, a day, or an hour. You want to first work on backing up anything you do not want to lose.

After your data is secure, then you will want to run the diagnostic tests. Try that "Hard Disk Test" first.
Then run chkdsk /r for an elevated command prompt. You will need to restart for the test to run.

Even if chkdsk comes up clean I would still download and run a diagnostic program from the hdd manufacturer.

If any or all of these test come up negative then it is time to replace the hard drive.

Note: the diagnostic test could be the thing that brings on the total failure. Backup data first!
