need to take data before format

Hi everyone m in big problem

My laptop is not being started. It shows recovery error, i tried to follow steps but it failed.

So at last i decide to format. But i have some imp files on Desktop . Please anyone suggest me any way to get those files

You want to look for "Data Recovery Programs". These run from a bootable CD (or sometimes USB stick), so they can run on a system with no OS.

Most people hear mention RECUVA (free) or EaseUS (paid). Try RECUVA first.

You may also try accessing your hard drive with a live Linux CD/pendrive.

Even though the laptop won't start, the data may still be readable. Take out the laptop hdd, get a usb hdd caddy (about £5 online) and copy data to another pc.

^ this is a good idea. You don't even need a caddy. Just connect it to another PC and see if the data can be read from within the other OS.

As TVeblen said... Connect your hard disk with another pc, if it shows the data, then it's good otherwise opt for a data recovery software and install in the hard disk whose recovery is to be done.

Most of the companies promise to recover data, but we should be aware that data can only be recovered if it is not overwritten. Once data is overwritten by any other data, it can not be recovered by any data recovery method.

So before buying any data recovery software, we must check the preview of the recoverable data. If required data is shown by the software only then it is recoverable. We should opt for such product which shows the preview of the recoverable data in the free version.
