Alright everyone
Whats up?
Im new here so i wanna make my first post by asking y'all a question.

Alright i have a desktop (its a windows 7 32 bit operating system made by dell)
So anyways, i bought it VIA VT6421A. When i asked the seller if it supports windows 7, he said no. My friend found me this site supposedly with the drivers for windows 7 for VIA VT6421A. Now im wondering, since i already purchased it an its being shipped, what should i do if the files hes found dont work? The latest version this will work on is windows xp. I have searched on how to do dual boot windows xp from windows 7 but it aint possible. The only way is to format and start from scratch which i find stupid for a just a pci card. What do you guys recommened me i do. I really want to use this card and i want to find a easy method. I know i could just buy a old ass computer with pci slot and use that but it would cost me some money which i dont want to spend :p. So any suggestions you guys? Thanks !!

EDIT*
I forgot to mention, but i have also tried the creating new partition, than putting xp cd in, and booting the cd from bios. For some reason , i have searched my bios and i dont have to option to do that!! Im not sure why though. Ethier i havent check my bios well enough or its not there for a fact!

now u can dual boot 7 and xp o the same computer for this first install win xp on the first partition and then install win 7 on the second or third partition. now restart your comp . what the os will do is that uptill win 7 gets a boot registry of itself it will search the partition so if in the first partition it finds the lower operating system then it will add that operating system to its boot file and u r done try it and post again if u have any more problems . you can also search on google for the same . now i used this technique for vista and used vista n xp on dual boot i reckon it should work for 7 also :D

I'm sorry but u were not clear enough for me to understand. I mean how can I install xp on first partion when my window 7 is already on that. I would have to format and erase all my crap and start from scratch. Plz explain in more detail and step by step clearer. When I insert the xp xd and do auto run and I click install win xp, it won't allow me cause it says the crap on the cd is lower than the software on the computer.

yeah i guess u have to format this partition but u an also use norton partition magic to take the space in ur primary partition to make a new partition before ur win 7 partition
also is it possible for u to format ur drive becoz a clean install would be better than all this norton partition magic

i will write in proper steps

1. take backup for ur win 7 drive and put xp cd in the computer

2. format ur c drive install xp on it

3. clear another drive on ur pc i.e d: ,e: or other

4. and install win 7 in it

5. restart ur pc as it automatically does u will get a boot menu for the operating systems
and u are done

You guys are ll right and thanks but still hasn't solved my problem.
All of these steps require to boot cd from bios which my computer might not have cUse when ever I start It up , It only gives me the option to press f2 or f12. I haven't tried the delete button but that's the only 2 options it displays on start up. What should I do? Is there a program that can make this easier!

Adrian Welcome to SevenForums and good luck to you with your problem, :D

Clicking on delete may get you into bios on a Dell pc. Most all pc's will let you change boot order. Have a look here at this link.
