Need Warband specs knowledge.

Can anybody help me specifically on what Mount and Blade Warband uses the most out of a computer? Such as if it uses only 2 cores, can I make it use only 2 cores and boost them up?

I want to increase Battle Size and I heard you need a really good CPU for that.

What about GPU? I would say I have a good GPU since I can run BF3 well. How does M&B use GPU?

Sorry if I am asking a lot. M&B is my game right now. So if anyone knows or can point me in the right direction, I will be grateful.

Your specs should be way enough to get good results. You have 6 core processor, I don't think turning off cores would help you much. The OS controls how many cores are used at any given time. A lot of times you will not see any games maxing out your cores due to video driver limitations.

yet when I set say 250 battle size while playing Napoleonic Mod, I get around 20 FPS

this is probably the game itself (directx 9) not able to multi-thread the graphics and most games are pretty much CPU intensive more then they are GPU intensive. If the game was directx 11 based, then it would fly because DX 11 is MUCH more optimized for graphic multithreading.

You'll need to turn down things one by one to see what is hitting your frame rate. Not even a 5000 dollar PC can help you if the game just can't do it.

That's my question. Can I modify Warband any way to be optimized with my system?

I don't know. I never played the game but I highly doubt you can do much. I would google to see if you can find fps tweaks for it.

You can download a battle size changer for M&B. Can't remember the name, but you can set it higher than what you can in the settings. Can't remember what I had it set to for my CPU, but you'll have to have a play with it and see what your PC can manage. When increasing battle size it's always the CPU that takes the toll as it has more AI and scripts to process.

Then turn down the settings. Your FPS will just go lower if you set it any higher.
