When I got this new computer back in 1/10, it came with Works Task Launcher. However, it didn't mean anytyhing other than these were all trial versions of Microsoft. Now, with Word Processor the only thing I use, but now is saying that the Spelling/Grammar can't be done for some reason, and all of these problems from Word to Photo Manager (or Editor?) expired, I need help in getting them back again. But...in a different way.

I have Microsoft Security Essentials, which has helped in protecting my computer. But, it was free. Please tell me that can be said for something similar to Works that includes Word and Photo, etc.? If so, and for free, where and how to get it?

Hallo Blinkernate, this software is basically what Microsoft Office is like. You can use it to view documents that have been sent to you & are in MS Office format but the downfall is someone with MS Office can not view your documents you send them.
The upside it is completely free;

download: OpenOffice.org Downloads

I hope this helps i think you will find it is the best free option available

Not saying Irfanview isn't suitable, but I think some may agree that OpenOffice is to Microsoft Office as GIMP is to Photoshop...

Yes and that is why GIMP is FREE and Photoshop is not. You pay for advanced features.

If you reread the OP it sounds to me like his trials are over and he's looking for free alternatives of office production and photo editing programs. We are all aware of the benefits that come with Photoshop, but that seemed outside his request...
I have Microsoft Security Essentials, which has helped in protecting my computer. But, it was free. Please tell me that can be said for something similar to Works that includes Word and Photo, etc.? If so, and for free, where and how to get it?

I wouldn't argue your point at all. I use GIMP. But for something quick, I use Irfanview - more straightforward and less complicated.

Just giving him the option of a freeware program that fits the bill for that end of the editing spectrum, being he didn't really specify a level of detail...

My qoute was directed towards openoffice not being as "feature-full" as MS office.
