When I turned on the computer, it took a long time to open and I got the following error message: Missing c:\users\ken\appdata\roaming\newnext.me\nengine.dll

How do I restore this? Can I download the missing DLL from the Internet?

Hi there .. Welcome to Seven Forums .. Did you Uninstall a program recently .. Do you have any Restore points before this happened... Have you done a System Scan ? What Antivirus are you using ?

System Restore shows today's date and a Windows Critical Update on 21 Feb.

I have not uninstalled any programs recently.

I have done a system scan with Registry Mechanic, Super Antispyware Pro, and G Data Antivirus.

Hi

If i might also try to help: that missing nengine.dll is a malware file. Your antivirus must have deleted the file but didn't remove the registry entry that reference's it. The task is to find and remove the registry reference to the dll.

1) Try running malwarebytes

2) If that doesn't resolve, try Autoruns. Click File->Find and search for the dll name. Tell me if Autoruns finds it.

I downloaded the free version of Malwarebytes and ran it. It detected 66 items, but not the Nengne.DLL file.

The closest one in the liust is: nengine cookie.

Should I remove all the slected items in the list?

Andshould I now try Autoruns?

At the top of the list of files, it says "Below is a list of malicious software. Close all unnecessary applications to ensure successful threat removal. I am afraid to delete some of the items in the list, as they look like they are needed. How can I tell which ones are needed and which ones can be deleted?

Also, how do I run SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker?

I have not run System File Checker. After running Malwarebytes, the problem seems to have been solved.
