I burned DVD using Nero yesterday. i played it back on DVD it worked great except for one thing. When I watch the movie I can't fast forward or rewind. My question did I miss something? I would like to be able to fast forward and rewind how to do that in Nero 10?

You should be able to skip chapters and Fast Forward/Rewind from the PopUp controls.

I'm assuming this is not working for you?

When you made your disc in Vision, did you create chapters?
Im not sure if that would have any impact on FF/RW, but I havent noticed a issue with my homemade DVDs.

But most of mine have been AVCHD or BluRay.
I'll have a closer look with DVD to see if I can reproduce the problem.
Any other info you can give on how you made the DVD would be helpful.

When I played the DVD on my DVD player I had the menu options "play movie/all" and "chapters" When I selected either one after I pressed either fast forward or rewind I had red circle with line through it in upper left corner

Personally, I dumped Nero years ago as its too big and expensive, other free programs do the same thing better.
To convert files to an ISO, I used DVDStyler Portable then use ImgBurn to put on a DVD.

The problem has been solved I was pressing the wrong button on DVD that why I got this circle thing, when I found the DVD remote everything worked out just fine.

I have another question now is it possible to burn mkv files using Nero and play it back on DVD Player?

Yes and a few others as well.
From what I have tried, Nero 10 has accepted MKV, MP4, AVI, M2TS, VOB, & TS to make a DVD,AVCHD, or BluRay from.
May be a few other containers it co-opertaes with, but those are a few Ive tried with it.

But keep in mind, although it supports these containers, there may be a issue with the Video or Audio Stream type inside of of.
For eample, DTS audio might be a problem, although I do not know for certain.
I have only tried AC3 and AAC both in 2.0 as well as 5.1 audio as input.

I did try I download first season of Prison Break MKV file (98MB each)I wanted to burn it on DVD (4.7GB) I was able to add only 5 files I could add more but it showed that the file size exceeded the dvd. The quality was low. Am I doing something wrong or mkv should not be burn to dvd directly? Do I need to convert it first? If so to what format avi?

MKV is just a container holding Audio Video stream.

Any file such as this is good for PC Playback, or streaming to other PCs or devices (such as DLNA TVS)

There are some file types, such as DIVX which can be burned directly to disc. But you need a player that will recognize & play it.

So it depends on what the target playback device is.
For example, if you have a DVD player that only reads DVD, you'll need to convert that file to a DVD format/structure and burn to disc.

In regards to low quality ... Theres always some quality loss when recoding anything.
But, those are 45min episodes at 98MB each.
Thats not even a 300bit rate, and thats excluding audio. So its lower than that.

Its going to look absolutely horrid before you do anything, and will get worse after a recode.
You will not be able to improve the video quality beyond what it is now, regardless what application you use.
