Well, I'm installing Windows 7 Pro x64 on my netbook since I got a free copy from a family member. I was looking up to see if it'd even be compatiable with my netbook and so far I think it would be. But to be sure, are N450 Atoms x86-64 ready? Gateway's site says it supports MMX, SSE, SSE3, etc.

Netbook is a Gateway LT2106U - It had 1gb of RAM, which I've upgraded to 2gb.

Anyways, what should I guy to make it a slim install?

Also, just a question, but would I be able to use my desktop's key on my netbook as well or would it like deactivate my desktop's install or what?

Your installation key can only be used on one machine. Win 7 64 should install okay with the spec you have, I am not sure what you mean by slim install?

I was going to run it through RT7Lite.

Also, what about an HP DV6000 laptop? Upgraded to 2gb of RAM? Would that do Windows 7 fine to? I just need to buy a new power adapter for it lol.

1. The DV6000 should be fine with Win7 - probably runs better than Vista
2. If you want to slim down the installation disk, you should have a look at vLite. Some people have slimmed it to 4GBs.

RT7Lite is what I'm using for Windows 7. It's awesome.
