I accidentally smashed my LCD screen on my Samsung N110 netbok and I am using an external monitor. I use the netbook for portable tasks and I can't use it portablly anymore. I need a cheap way of replacing the LCD.
My warranty has voided and I can't pay £60.0+ for a new LCD screen.

you may be able to find a used or salvage monitor that will work but i'm not sure how cost effective this is going to turn out. you will likely just have to swallow the cost or buy a new netbook. sorry about your misfortune.

Sorry to hear about your netbook screen.
Have you checked Ebay?
I found one here in the States for $99 US but that is about the same as £60.0 so I guess you have to save becasue I don't think you will find one any cheaper.

Here is one on ebay for $87 US

Do you have computer shows in England? We have a monthly show here where they sell a lot of both new and used equipment. It would be a roll of the dice to find exactly what you are looking for, but it might be worth a shot. You might also eBay for it. Sometimes you can find things there that are not working, and sold for parts. If you are real lucky, you might have a local computer repair that might have a used LCD to fit. We have one computer store locally that looks somewhat like "Sanford And Son"...a TV junkyard. I have even seen flea markets with some computer components, but that is a real long shot.

Hi Cain,

Do you live near, or can you get to, any of these locations on the specified dates (particularly Manchester)? I'm not promising anything, but you might find something.

Hi there

in the UK you can sometimes find whole computers at your local "Tip" -- but a Netbook is relatively new so I doubt whether you'll find any "cannabalisable" parts.

If you are in London -- Tottenham Court Road / Oxford Street has loads of electronic shops where you might find somebody able to repair (replace) the screen but I think actually 60 GBP is probably a good deal for a repair.

A new machine will cost you in the UK around 240 GBP - so I'd just bite the bullet and pay the 60 GBP.

Enc picture of a real treasure of a Tip -- got around 3 old DECENT fully working computers from here FOR NOTHING . This tip is the London Borough of Sutton's tip near Croydon S. London -- I went there when I was on a short term contract in Croydon.

Cheers
jimbo

I have phoned Sand they will charge me £248 to fix the LCD and the hinge because that is broken as well and I need a new case.

I can not afford that much. It is not just the LCD.

I have a new Samsung N210 now.
