International distribution restrictions. It's the same reason we in the States can't watch streaming BBC programming. The content provider has different distribution dates/methods/partners for different countries so Microsoft can't provide the same feeds to everyone.
It's possible they will work out deals later on to provide similar stuff for other countries.

You may get it to work if you use an IP hider.

i have tried hotspot shield in the past which allowed me to watch Hulu (is that it?) but it wont work anymore in media centre, i guess they found out about it and have done something to the code.
I use a plugin called TunerfreeMCE
TunerFree MCE
Its pretty good and works well. Like i said, i could watch hulu through this using hotspot shield but not anymore
