Netgear WG111 Driver Problems

Hey everyone,

The drivers for my WG111 won't work with win7 rev 7000.

It says they are unsigned in the device manager, and that is why windows doesn't like them.

I have tried the following:
1. Running the software in compatibility mode:
2. BCDedit.exe set testing, signing, etc.

Still no luck, and i can't seem to find the driver without the software installer and the software sort of halfway hangs at the end of the installation when I am trying to install, and I think this is the problem.

Its ok with x64.

You dont use Driver max? You click on the download link shown on your screen to the right.

i downloaded it yesterday, but, I'm unsure of how it downloads the actual drivers, and i'm on my xp machine right now, so do i have to plug my netgear stick into this machine to be able to download that driver?

How do i make my system bypass signing at start up

i tried doing different bcdedit things, and it didn't work

how do i get this thing to work at startup like everyone else?

I think I removed the netgear software, but the drivers stayed and worked. They are whql signed.

No everything installed, but had problems until I deleted the Netgear software.

i ran drivermax and it says:

I think the only way around this problem is to make the netgear software run right... which, in 64 bit win7 7000 build, it hangs when you are at the stage when you are supposed to plug the adapter in.

I also tried the other link you gave me to see if this was just an issue with drivermax... same problem before.

I have also removed the netgear software after install, and it had no effect on it.

how do you disable driver signature check to get it to work?

Also, this driver is avaiable for anyone on the netgear website, and you don't have to use drivermax which is annoying and useless tool, IMHO.

Anyway... if anyone can tell me how to disable driver signature check, I would be much obliged.

OKAY, anyone wanting to know how to do this in Win7 and Vista SP1 for that matter, here is the deal.

You can press F8 at start up to get temporary relief and this will allow you to use your unsigned driver, and until you have the next update to win7 this might not be too annoying for you, since bcdedit does not work anymore.

Look below at this article, i think it has a solution, but i didn't read it all the way through because I am just going to F8 for now.

I'll post updates.

I would not recommend doing this, it is a huge security risk.

solution!!

i found them though after hours of searching for developers!! nothing else worked after wasting time.

go to www.weinsteinsolutions.com/wg111v2.html

sorted me out and saved me hours of work (whos got time to spend doing all this!)
has instructions to follow for Windows 7 and vista and friend also confirmed it works on 64bit as well as 32bit. cost is nothing compared to time one could spend.
highly recommend!
