Ok, hopefully you can help me with this because I have a Netgear Wireless RangeMax N that widows will detect, load the driver, but not find any networks even though my Dell Inspiron laptop can. I recently tried to set up a computer to computer network with the wireless capabilities of both the desktop computer (win 7) and the laptop (win xp) and win 7 could not set one up. So I decided to take matters into my own hands and uninstall this driver that win 7 recognized as a boardcom driver so that I could potentiality add the driver via the software the pci card came with. Big mistake. So I tried to disable the automatic drivers that win 7 has by accessing the "gpedit.msc" file. Well when I open that it says something like "cannot catch open handle" or something of the nature. And now i am stuck... any advice? How do I reinstall the driver and get windows 7 to connect to a wireless network?
