I have just purchased a Windows 7 Home Premium PC and want to use the Netgear WNDA3100 wireless adapter to access my dual band n wireless network. Netgear doesn't have the drivers yet and can't tell me when they will have them. Anyone know of a dual band adapter that will work?

I'm going to assume this came with a driver cd? If so they have Vista drivers? Place cd in drive. right click on that drive and click open in new window>find the setup.exe file>right click to properties>compatibility.check the run in compatibility mode choose either XP or Vista>install as administrator. This has worked with other driver issues hopefully yours as well good luck and welcome to seven froums. Fabe Here is another thread about the same router that is resolved http://www.sevenforums.com/drivers/9405-netgear-wnda3100-doesnt-work.html Netgear instructions on reinstalling drivers http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2721

Hello Bullmoose, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Netgear as a Vista driver available at their website link below that should work in Windows 7. If it does not install normally, then you may need to use Compatibility Mode on the driver to install it.

Answer

Hope this helps,
Shawn

WNDA3100v2 works with win 7

I am using windows 7 and Netgear USB Adapter WNDA3100v2. The resource disk contained the software and it installed without a hitch.
Older versions of the adapter seem not to work with 7.

To an admin, if you could make this a sticky that would be awesome 'cause "ryanandkevin's" solution works flawlessly, and this could help a ton of people.

I've used these drivers on three different WNDA3100 adapters for over a week now and they work great!!!

Thanks again ryanandkevin for a great soultion!!

Solution

Hi all,

Thanks for the replies,
I also found a solution as follows:

1. Boot into Win74 x64
2. Insert driver CD provided
3. Connect Adapter to a USB port
4. Select install driver manually
5. Select search location for driver
6. Point to CD drive
7. Install!

This method wont give you the software, but in my experience that just screws things up anyway!

All the best,

Rich

It's much simpler than that. Connect the machine to the internet through a network cable. Insert the adapter. Let Windows search for the driver through Microsoft update. Done.
