"NETIO.SYS DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" when shutting down system

Hey guys,

I've been getting a "NETIO.SYS DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" BSOD when shutting down one of my older systems.

The system itself runs fine and I only get this at the very last part of the shutdown process. It's happened a few times over the last few weeks. I haven't installed any new hardware in the system and I keep most of the software up-to-date.

Appreciate if anyone can help me with this one. :)

Hi Brds7t7,

What is the support page of Dell? I can only find the motherboard which is being used in quite some models.

I find it a bit odd what I see in the dump. You mention a Windows network driver, I see some network drivers of Windows what would let me expect that the network drivers are the cause but it appears the Intel chipset drivers & AMD display drivers are being flagged. The Intel chipset drivers are a bit old btw.

On a side note, are there BIOS updates available?

Hi Axe, thanks for the reply.

As far as I know those are the latest chipset drivers for my system, those are the latest I can find on the Dell site anyway. And the BIOS is on the latest available. Weird that it's only started happening within the past few weeks, which is leading me to think it might be a software issue. Everything was fine up until then. I've updated a few things such as Malwarebytes and Comodo and wondering if it could be these two conflicting? I've updated Virtualbox recently, would that have anything to do with the Network adapter?

This is the only support page I could find

Depending on what you're using of Avast, this may be conflicting.

Thanks for the help Axe.
I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling my AMD drivers and also reinstall Avast and Comodo with fresh settings. If that doesn't fix it I'll try rolling back to an older version of Comodo as I have a feeling it might be that causing the issue.
I'll do all that tomorrow and report back if it continues to BSOD.

Hey Axe,

I know it's been a few weeks but just wanted to report back. I went back to an earlier version of comodo and haven't had another BSOD in weeks now. So it's definitely something they've introduced in one of the recent versions which was causing the BSOD on Shutdown. I think it might have been the Viruscope function of Comodo which was conflicting with Avast.
System is running well again with the older version installed.

Thanks for the help.
