Network Adapter Misbehaving

I recently built my new computer and installed the TP-Link WN350GD wireless adapter.

Now here's the problem, when ever I turn on the computer (after a few hours of being turned off) the adapter does not work at all, Windows doesn't recognize it at all and also speccy too thinks I don't have any card installed.

BUT as soon as I reboot the computer, the adapter works fine, Windows automatically conects me to my home internet network, and speccy detects it without a hitch. The perfromance is fine, it never drops out and I get a good wirless conection.

Bear in mind that i have installed the card correctly into the PCI slot and before the reboot I never touch or change it's position. I have also updated to the latest drivers.

This happens all the time, ever since i got the computer about a week ago.

Does anyone have any solutions for this weird problem?

I am assuming that you checked online for the lastest drivers?

You may also want to check your advanced power options for anything that may relate to enabling/waking your PCI card just in case something isn't quite right.

Yep, i'm using the latest driver. Problem still happens though

I changed the only setting I could find in the UEFI, I enabled PCI Devices Power On (PCI devices to turn on the system from the power soft on mode). It didn't seem to help as i still have the same problem.

Do you have another PCI slot available? If so, you may want to try that. I doubt that's the issue but it's another thing to eliminate. It may just come down to the card itself.

Yeah I tried another PCI slot, it still didn't properly work. Probably the card itself, though it's a very strange issue to have.

Yeah, then I would think something is hokey with the card or the drivers. Sorry mate.

Cleaning the connections that goes into the PCI slot usually helps. The brass or copper parts get tarnished and do not work consistantly when they are dirty. Shut down the machine, unplug from power and push the start button to bleed off extra power on the board, take out the PCI adaptor and clean up the brass part using some rubbing alcohol. Reinsert the adaptor and use the screw to hold it in then power up the machine and see if it's any better.
