Network and Internet Problem

Hello Everyone,

I have bought a new DELL laptop with Windows 7 in it. For the first time when I connected my internet cable to it, it was showing 'Unidentified Network'. I have tried every possible thing to make it work but I am not able to do it. What is the problem with it??? Could anyone explain to me wht to do to make it run smoothly.
I will really appericiate if someone could help me to do this.

first power off your laptop.
then power off your modem and router/switch or hub -- by unplugging the power cord.
then plug your modem back in, wait for the lights to cycle through (1 min or so)
then power on your router/switch or hub -- wait for lights
then power on your laptop...

see if that works first.

But the same internet connection when I am using with my different system, its working completely fine.

Yeah that's normal, your computer is most likely just unable to grab an ip address from either your router or modem at this time. The power resets is simply the first step, in case this doesn't fix this issue.
