Network browsing on different subnets

We are adding Win7 computers to our network which has several different subnets. For example, our desktops are on a different subnet than our servers, but we need to browse to them to access shared folders. When browsing the network, computers on a different subnet are not displayed. We do not have this problem with XP desktops. Are there settings on the Win7 computers to change that will allow the different subnet computers to be displayed? Suggestions?

You can bind two IP addresses to your NIC if you can live without DHCP.

Turn off DHCP and go to Advanced TCP/IP Setting in IPv4.

You can type in a standard 192.168.x.x address and the gateway address "Subnet Mask".

Then add another address 10.0.0.xx and no gateway address "Subnet Mask".

This way you can be on both networks at the same time.

network browsing

Sorry for the confusion. My computer (as with other Win7 computers) with Windows 7 cannot see all the computers on the network, including many on my own subnet (13 out of 60). Also, I am unable to see any of the servers, which are on a separate subnet. I can connect through RUN (\\servername) or ping them, but am unable to see them with Network browsing. I have also insured that the DC has Computer Browsing enabled.

I just explained how to add subnets so you can browse to them in the last post.

You need to add the subnets you want to access to your IPv4 properties window. You need to figure out which subnets they are on first, you can browse to all the different subnets that you enter into IPv4 properties window but I believe they need to be using a common default gateway.
