network card issues

i can not get my netgear WG311v3 54MB wireless pci adapter to work Device manager say the device cannot start (code 10)
so i tried update drivers and windows says i have the most up todate drivers for it. so i uninstalled the driver to try and get windows to reinstall the drivers but it fails any help please. i have looked on the netgear website and they say wwindows should install the drivers automatically, but no.
i have windows 7 64bit 4Gb ram

If that doesn't work, remove the card from your PC, then install drivers. Then put the card back and reboot.

no good tried but same error device cannot start (code 10)

Have you tried using the hotkey to enable the wifi? Not sure what the XPS combo is. On Lenovo it's Fn + F5

If you dont get the wifi light to turn on, maybe a hotkey utility need to be installed.

I had similiar problem with a Linksys card with XP and it turns out the card is dead.

the driver has not been signed and windows 64 bit doesn't allow unsigned drivers to run.

on boot, press F8 as you would to boot in safe mode and select 'disable digital signature enforcement'. this will only disable it for the session and will need to done each time the computer is rebooted/restarted.

hopefully the driver will be signed soon as it does in fact work with win 7 64.
