I recently upgraded my rig to Intel 2600K CPU using a Gigabyte P67A-UD7 motherboard. Used the same installation of my SSD for boot drive after updating drivers, everything seem perfect. Had a few application issues (mainly Creative Labs), but otherwise OK. Re-activated Win 7 and MS office, Adobe apps, and had to re-install Crysis. After all that, and not right away, there began to be a delay in start-up. I turn the machine on, desktop comes up, but the LAN connection icon in the system tray just sits there with the busy (blue circle), not turning and I cannot launch anything. Clicking on an app just presents me with another waiting circle until after a minute or so, the LAN connection is established and then all is working.
Very frustrating to have to wait 60 additional seconds when the entire thing booted in 45 seconds just before.
I have 5 other PC's/laptops and have no problem. I've tried rebooting the DSL modem/router. The motherboard has 2 realtek ethernet connections which I tried seperatly and in the teaming mode (gives you a virtual 2 gig connection), all to no avail.
This morning, while waiting for the connection, near the end, it said that Windows Explorer has stopped working and will restart, which it did, then had to wait another 30 seconds before connection was established.
Something is going on, but I can't check in network and sharing center because I am locked out until connection is established, then it shows no errors. Adaptor settings have not been changed and the repair/diagnostic function in that control panel reveals nothing, finds no problems.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Tried setting stock CPU speeds and also turned off Windows firewall and MS Security essentials. No other security software running.
