I recently noticed my network connections indicator (large green icon to the left of systray) is not appearing anymore. It seemed like it was always on by default the last few years, and I really found it useful, i.e. it quickly indicated to me whether I was connected to wireless or ethernet, strength of wireless connection, etc.
The screenshot shows what I am talking about. Anyone know how to get this to reappear? I've checked taskbar properties, network and sharing properties as obvious places, but I can't find any settings to control this indicator showing or not on the taskbar like it used to. Thanks!
Thanks, Jerry. Obviously Windows 7 (my OS) had the green indicator or I wouldn't have that screenshot and have used it for the first three years of using my system.
The info you pointed me to only talks about turning off/on the small icon in the systray. Again, I am not looking for a systray icon, but the one shown in the screenshot. Since it suddenly disappeared after all this time, I almost wonder if it's related to some kind of recent Windows update? Thanks to anyone who can solve this!
Turns out this is a Lenovo Access Connections setting, not related to Windows. Somehow, it got switched off in my Lenovo Access Connections control panel.
