Hi,

I am new to this networking thing,

I just wanted to know if their is any software that allows me to download the sofware and install software on any other computer on the network remotly without the person knowing because i do not want to disturb them or installing a software on their computer as well so i can do this.

I have got about 5 computer or laptops on the network and they are all my family lool but i'm the one they complain to if anythings goes wrong soooo i just wanted a software to allow me to do it from my computer. So i would not have to go to them and look at it. It usually involves me to install drivers and softwares to fix the problems they have.

So is their any software that would allow me to. I know their is remote access but my family members will have to stop what they are doing, i just want a software that allows that without interupting them, so it would install in background or something.

Could anyone help?

Thanks in advance

Hello as786 and welcome to Windows Seven Forums!

Just download the exe file, and when it asks for the download destination, just choose the networked computer. When running the installer, just choose all of the file paths to be on the networked computer. That's what I did on a friends network.

Hope that helps,

For the unofficial you need the folders for the files to go to shared folders on the remote computer. Also that might cause issues with the program showing up in one computers installed programs, and it could also make any required registry changes on the wrong computer...etc. it could work but not a guarantee depending on how the installer and program was written

Ahh I see. Good thinking kool1zero, thats a very good thing to be wary of. Also It may not work, because you have to configure HDD so as to share it on the network. So it can only be configured while somebody is not using it. I am not aware of another way to install programs/files other than using a VNC connection, or a RDC connection. :-(

Sorry thats all I know,

My bad...

as786,
I was wrong. Unless for some unknown reason, you hate teamviewer, use it. After doing a little more research (aka clicking on DocBrowns link) I discovered that TeamViewer has the same features and is easier to use. I would still give TightVNC a shot when you've got a second. :D

Sorry to have mislead you

Just click on the link that kool1zero posted, read what needs to be done, and do it. It's pretty simple, and once it's done you don't install any software - you just use the RDP client built into Windows 7 to log in remotely to the computers in your home workgroup/homegroup.
