Hey guys, im looking for some help with network drives. I am currently running win7 ultimate and am trying to share 2 drives: One HDD for movies and the other is a virtual BD-ROM drive. Problem is, i want to set it up so that the users on the network can have their own username and password to log in without having to create new local accounts for each one. Is there a way to do this? Another acceptable avenue would be to have "invisible" local accounts, which do not appear on the login screen.

SO, question is: Can i do it? and if yes, how?

Thanks for any help.

Yes there is a way to do it, but you have to create local accounts. These accounts can be hidden from the login screen. See this technet. If you do not wish to create local accounts, there are other alternatives. Have you thought of setting up your own NAS server? You can buy one online or build your own (I think building your own is more fun), and it is better to have a dedicated machine for file sharing because you don't have to have your laptop/computer on all the time :D

First off, thanks for the reply! Very useful info right there, dunno why it didn't come up beforehand heh. As to the alternative of building a NAS, it would kind of defeat the purpose of having a 12tb system lol
