Solved Network Error - you do not have permission to access files

I have worked through every post I can find but cannot access files on other PC's on a Windows 7 Homegroup.

I have disconnected both Computers from the Homegroup and started a new homegroup and have connected both to it. The My Documents folder on the second Computer is located on a seperate drive ie D:\My Documents. I have right clicked and allowed it to share with Homegroup.

When I go to my computer it now shows in the list in the homegroup but when I try to access it I get the error - 'You do not have permission to access \\Computer name\My Documents Contact your network administrator to request access."

This is so frustrating because this has only recently happened and I have had no problem accessing them in the past.

One thing I have noticed is that both computers only show Access as Internet as opposed to Local and Internet.

Anyone any further ideas>>

EDIT - Reset the Router back to factory settings and started the whole produre over again and now have connectivity with other PC

Recently I have purchased a system in that I found this problem and I have solved by given solution traced by myself

Right Click the hard disk (in which your folder is set to sharing) go to properties click security find the list under the Groups or User names: the following list should be there
1. Everyone
2. Authenticated Users
3. SYSTEM
4. (system name) for eg. Sanjay (Sanjay-PC\Sanjay)
5. Administrators (Sanjay-PC\Administrators)
6. Users (Sanjay-PC\Users)

If any thing is missing from the above list please add by clicking on Edit button and then on Add , Advanced..., Find now, select from the below list.

Hi:

It was ntfs security which was not configured. Properties > Security > Edit > Add > Enter "Everyone". Thats it!

This thread dates back to October 2012.
It's highly unlikely that the OP (or anyone else) is still following it.
