Hi,

I have a Windows 7 Enterprise.

a few days ago my network indicator started to act funny. it always shows it's disconnected although I'm connected and online.

It doesn't matter if it's wired or wireless connection , every connection shows disconnected.

I've attached the graphic notification pictures so you'll know what I mean.

Although it doesn't causes any troubles in my work , I can never know if I'm connected or not.

Please help me.

Regards,

Nir

Check whethr u hv updated ur wired and wireless drivers. U can do it thru DM. Once done, reboot and check (if windows updates) Issue resolved? No, follow below..

If no updates, then uninstall both devices restart and let windows install both of them automatically. Issue resolved? No, follow below..

Now we need to reset the TCP/IP stack. Follow these,

Start - All programs - Accessories - Command prompt - Right click and select RUN AS ADMIN

Enter these one at a time (or copy and paste) and hit enter after each

ipconfig /flushdns

nbtstat -R

nbtstat -RR

netsh int reset all

netsh int ip reset

netsh winsock reset. Close command prompt or type in Exit to close.

Reboot and check. Issue resolved?

Ive seen it happen on a few laptops before but rebooting solved it :(

Create a new user account and goto a few websites using your browser, let us know if it still occurs.

Here are the results:

sfc /scannow

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Im betting its just your user account that this occurs, create a new user account and browse a few websites and see if Windows still reports disconnected otherwise your laptop's driver software either disabled the Network List Service or Wlan/Wired auto-config services.

Steven

I've created a new user , logged in with it and got the same results .

All the services you mentioned are up and running.

how can I see the status of the driver software ?

Each laptop and each manufacturer uses different software for managing their drivers and hardware and as such theres no standard way for me to tell you what to open and what to look for :(

Probably best if you use System Restore and select a restore point from last week before this problem started happening ;)

Steven

And the problem is........

I've disabled system restore ..... Yes , this is my punishment .

Try doing this which has been known to fix this type of problem in the past.
1.) Shut down your PC.
2.) Unplug the power cord and push start button to drain all power from the board.
3.) If you have a laptop, remove the battery as well.
4.) Walk away from the problem for at least 30 minutes.
5.) When you return, reconnect battery and power cord.
5.) Start as usual. It might also help to reset the router.

Lets do some more R&D. Cool buddy!! Follow one by one.
1. Do you have any 3P firewall? If yes, disable them and check.
2. Open DM, Uninstall your card(ethernet/wireless). Scan for hardware changes, let 7 detect the card and install the necessary drivers. Once done, restart and check.
3. Open DM, right click on the card, properties, power management tab, uncheck allow the computer to turn off this device to save power. Apply, Ok, Restart and check.
4. Take a snip of your ethernet card properties, advanced page from DM and attach here. We need to check whether duplex ratings are specified.
5. Final resort, reboot, press F8, select safe mode with networking and check whether the issue persists.

Al the very best!!!

This is my final try buddy..hope this should help. If not, live with the issue or throw the damn thing out :) JUZ KIDDIN

Click on ur network icon, open network and sharing centre.
Click Troubleshoot problems.
First try the diagnose of Internet connections. It wil take some time. Check whether 7 shows any issue. If yes, post it here.
Second try with Network adapters. I presume, there should be some issue getting diagnosed. If yes, post it here. I presume, there should be some problem with your DNS servers. Lets c, wat 7 has to say.

If nothing worked, I give up buddy.
