Hey guys and gals, I've had some internet connection issues on and off over the years. Sometimes it is very frustrating because Comcast/Xfinity won't admit they have a problem. The first time this happened there was an almost city wide issue, with television and internet. It took thirteen days before it was resolved and Four Tech's (if you can call them that) out to my house. All of them agreed that the problem was outside the house because they checked, but still forced me to let them in or said that they could not help if I didn't let them in. I said: "This problem is outside and I can't afford for you guys to keep coming in and charging me" He told me: "No, there will be no charge as I can see the problem is outside" Well they tried to charge me. I'm happy with Comcast and they fixed the bill.

But now having the same issues as before and want to find a program that is easy to use and read, to see small disconnects in internet connection, is this possible?

I've tried Pinging different websites, but the infrequency is to much. Once and a while I can catch the disconnect if I try for a long time with constant pinging. I assume there is something in windows 7 that reports stuff like this also? Event Viewer or something? I tried using Task Manager to watch, but that was not telling me anything.

There is also the possibility that this is a hardware issue, as I don't want to discount all possibilities. Should I start with the Hardware. I guess I could test this problem on another computer, that would be easy enough, but again, it is infrequent.

I keep getting "NO INTERNET CONNECTION HELP" in Yahoo Mail?

And, keep seeing a Red X on the Ethernet Icon in Task Bar?

Keep getting small disconnects in what I'm doing also, like sending emails, posting on forums. Surprised I haven't downloaded something that broke my system, actually may have. torchwood helped me HERE with some CBS Logs. But that was also do to some Power issues that surely corrupted my OS. Now that seems to be all repaired. We seemed to be having problems with Avast, and now it makes sense to me that I downloaded Avast during this issue, but did not know it at the time.

All the while streaming music on youtube with no troubles.

Sorry for the long post, Networking issues elude me.

First point don't do lots of pings as that is actually a DOS attack so the host may block it. Using tracert tells you more it tells you if there is a block or fail at some point it will often show a fail at a certain router which is ISP. Often ISP will have a big pipe to say uk but small one to Japan so there can be a problem there.
Software isn't a lot of good as it doesn't show problems on router most routers will have a lot which will tell you everything it may need turning on its evidence for ISP

Tracert lets you trace to any IP or domain it shows the times to each jump and often shows a faulty router. From a cmd prompt you just type

Tracert Adobe.com or any other domain like tracert Google.com it's worth trying local country and others as well to see if it fails to certain countries

Thank you, I see what you are saying.

I'm testing my Main pc now to rule out any hardware issues, though the problem resembled one I had not to long ago with Comcast. No problems yet with my Main pc. Will need to test the Ethernet Card next I guess on that machine?

samuria, having the same problem with my Main PC now also. I don't think "Tracert" will work as it doesn't Monitor for extended periods. This time around it took 15-20min for the problem to resurface or longer.

samuria, This is the FRST Log created on my other computer that was having this issue quite a bit worse than this pc is. I don't think there is anything in it that would be of help because torchwood already looked at it. I'll Attach it.

Thanks, I will also contact Comcast again, I need my internet! lol.

Here is a Pint I just did for One Minute, but all looks good. As I was saying, it is intermittent. I ran it twice in hopes that it would see something, but it did not.

samuria, Will do. Maybe tonight, if not tomorrow sometime.

Thank you for pointing out the Errors, so that I can look at them and maybe learn something.

I think that HDD has some system file corruption and may do a Reinstall to fix it. But this problem also exists on my Main pc.

Thank you for your help, Nasty7
