Okay, when I bought my laptop it already had norton installed on the computer and I could not access my xp computers with my windows 7 computer that are networked together. The trial ran out so I uninstalled it and then there was no problem accessing all computers so I understand that it is an ativirus program problem and have read that you need to have your networking done before installing any antivirus program.

Well since it was up and running and with my new laptop without any antivirus program on it I decided to try the Kaspersky Internet Security trial. I have used it on another computer and it does a lot better than Norton so I decided to try it on my new laptop. Got it installed and then could no longer see my xp computers again. I figured since my network was up and running before I installed kaspersky it wouldnt be affected but it was. Well the trial has ran out and now I can access my network again, so again it is an antivirus problem. I would like to purchase the full program but need to figure out how to get the networking to work with it. Can someone help me on how to set up the network to work with the kaspersky internet security so I can access my other computers as well?

I am not using a home group at all since the other computers are not windows 7 and without the antivirus program running I can see everthing and access everything just fine so it isn't a networking issue but an antivirus program blocking the network.

I have the internet hooked up through the same wireless router, linksys wrt54g, and it works just fine. I am stumped at the moment. Any help is greatly appreciated.;)

Thanks for the link. I have done everything in the link and just have to wait to get an actual copy of Kaspersky to be sure it works. Now I do have a question on something in the link. There is a short video showing what to do to set up the network through the control panel, in the file and print sharing section to turn it on or off, in the video it is set to on then it is set to off and kept that way. In the network discovery it is on then turned off and back on, I am guessing just to show you to set it to on, were they suppose to do that to the file and print sharing as well and forgot to do it or is it suppose to be set to off? Just something that I had seen but again, thanks for the link and hope it helps.
