Network Problems

Hello All: I just got a new laptop never owned one before not real savy with it i have a network problem something is not allowing any virus updates to be downloaded i can't update any software except microsoft
i also want to use zemana keylogger but no updates for that either i can get on internet ok download anything,tried to install bit defender antivirus but can't. Avast would not work either finally got AVG to install ok but won't allow me to update.I think it might be the windows firewall but i don't really know for sure.Any Help would be very much appriciated Thanks oldstumpy

Do you have two anti viruses installed- Mcafee and AVG?
First step remove one of them.
As regards the firewall issue-
To allow a program through firewall go to-Control Panel\System and Security\Windows Firewall
click on "Allow program or feature through firewall"
Now find your antivirus there and tick both Home as well as public.
If you could not find it you may add it by clicking on 'Add another program'button

no only avg right now uninstalled mcafee tried to install bitdefender no luck tried to install avast no luck finely got avg to install
but can't update

as far as adding program to firewall already tried and failed every time i add my avg or zemana antikeylogger in windows firewall as soon as i close and open right back up the programs are gone.can't turn of windows firewall the same thing happens it turns right back on tried to shut off in services also no dice. Just can't get it to work.

Did you click 'ok' button after adding and allowing them through firewall?

This sort of thing is normally a virus can you do all our scans post results PCHF System Scans
