its kind of strange, lm connected to the internet fine.. l wouldnt be able to post this if l wasnt however my network is reporting no internet connection, this issue seems to only be happening while running my VPN (PureVPN) and has only really started happening in the past day or so.

its not a major issue considering lm not loosing connectivity, its just annoying that windows seems to be saying otherwise.

(l will note my connection is a wireless one)

Hi timeless

For PureVPN, you need to log-in to the country, and wait for it to connect.

Only once connect, then it is connection thru PureVPN.

If not, meaning you already in the internet or open the browser before activate PureVPN, this may be the issue.

As far as i concern, i sign this as it is partner to my ISP Starhub (i had mentioned).

With such partnership, connection will not be much an issue.

As if i cannot connect to a specific website thru my ISP as return as error 404.

So i use PureVPN and it connect fast, no error.

There is an internet icon on the taskbar on the bottom right.

I drag this icon on the taskbar.

Should there be a slow-down, i just glance at the icon, if there is a yellow exclamation mark or not.

If there is, then the connection between both routers is giving me the problem.

Router. I had participated a trial on autozoning, where i am using the router as wireless repeater.

So you can monitor on the internet icon should there be an issue.

The worst case is that your ISP may be the issue, But i don't think so.

Try to activate the PureVPN before open the browser.

That is to say, your IP Address has assigned to you by PureVPN before open the browser.

If not, there may be a conflict on the IP Address.

Hope this help you.

Regards
Eric.

actually it seems to be a windows issue, l dont loose connectivity its just windows reporting it as such in the notification area. the issue in question is the signal icon showing an explaimation mark noting no connection despite being online and browsing with no problems..

however l "might" have solved it, turns out theres actually a hotfix for it but only for windows 8 which consisted of navigating to network connections right clicking on the PureVPN network connection then going Properties > Networking > selecting internet protocol IPV4 (TCP/IPV4) > Properties > Advanced then unticking use as default gateway on remote network, so far things seem to be ok now despite the fact that its reticked itself.
