ill try explain this the best way i can

ive set up a htpc and connected it to my router with a ethernet cable, my main pc is also connected with ethernet cable,
i have people staying in my flat next door and i let them use my wifi to connect to the net, when there connected they show up in the 'network' tab does this mean they have access to the htpc files?

thanks

Is there an option to set the HTPC to private or public? But I would think so if they are on your network.

If your router has a guest account it would be best to set that up for them.

This will put them outside of your regular network which will keep them from seeing your files but they will still have internet access.

There are other ways of protecting your files such as using password protected sharing in the Advanced Sharing options in Windows. :)
