You could create Groups and add users into them. Then in the permissions of the folder, add those groups...etc

There is no practical way of doing this with Windows 7. As Aem pointed out, you would need too create another Group account just for sharing with a particular person in order share with only that person. You can share with individual users on the same machine but on the LAN the only way is to create another Share Group and set up shares with the User you need to share with. Royally sucks I agree there should be a more practiacal way of doing this.

Hi there, just need to clear the facts. I must add user to server, then create groups and add those users to the groups. Am I understanding correct?

I assume you want to create a group and adding domain user accounts?

In Computer Manager, Group, create new groups and in New Group window, you click Add (to add members). The Select Users box come up.

There you can choose Object Type, Locations (this is where if you have domain users, you would select/browse the location/domain), Check Names (type in the names of the user account and check if your machine can locate them).

Domain

Thx for the reply. We are not using a domain. Just workgroup. all 9 or 10 pcs on workgroup. is this a problem? If I were to create an user account on the server for each user on the network. Do I use the pc's name or the user on that pc. ok, so once I solved that one, do I then create a group and add some user to that group. Then set permissions as per that group. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thx

How many users do you have to deal with?
