Welcome to sevenforums, sorry you are having issues!

First try disabling any firewalls, and also look at your Antivirus... many these days also include a firewall. Disable all of them and try this again... please let us know how it goes.

Are you absolutely sure it is msidch32.dll???? I can find nothing anywhere on that dll file! Are you positive of the spelling?

You might want to try CCleaner and see if it can find/fix this. I am assuming that you get this error at boot, or???

Look at MSCONFIG and see if anything there is "calling" that dll into action.

If not, you can search the Windows registry for that file and delete the entry that is calling it into action. Make sure you backup your registry before editing or deleting anything from the registry!

If you are unfamiliar with editing the registry; you can find plenty of help here on that, or I can walk you through it later today! :geek:

OK, we can solve this but... we have to go into a dangerous place to do so: the Windows 7 registry! The computer is acting normally other than this annoying message, right? If yes, proceed.

First open the registry editor by clicking on Start and typing regedit into the search bar and then hit your enter key. You may get a UAC warning, click OK.

Now, first and most importantly... we need to make a backup of your registry... just in case. So, click on File --> Export. Choose your destination location, and make sure All is selected at the bottom before you click Save. I'd save to the desktop for ease of finding it, and you can name it whatever you want... regbkup or similar is fine.

Now we need to find the registry key that is calling this missing and unknown file into action... Click on Edit --> Find and type msidch32.dll, then click Find Next. You should find a key or two that mentions this dll file. Since we made a backup already, we can safely delete any key that mentions this file. You did make that backup right??? To delete the key, right click it in the window pane on the right and select delete.

There may be several entrys and you will want to hit the Find Next button after each deletion until you get a message stating Finished saerching through the registry.

Reboot and the problem should be gone! If it is gone, and you are happy that everything else works fine, you may delete the backup file from your desktop or wherever you saved it to!
