Newbie Silver Surfer here, hello all.
Question is: I want to add a new build big box PC to my lappy in another room. Wireless is fine, tested out OK, but I have only 2.4 Mb at best and wish to cable the connection, keeping wireless for Kindle and occasional lappy use.
Using a 15 m. Cat 5e in my bungalow loft, is there any degradation in Signal over a GOOD cable?

According to the ANSI/TIA/EIA standard for category 5e cable, the maximum length for a cable segment is 100 meters (328 feet).
So I don't believe you would experience any degradation in signal at 15m.

I use a 10m cable without any problems.

Remember to check the cable out properly before you install it as it is easy to get a cable with one or more bad connections which need to be remade.
