Hi Guys

I am sorry it this is the same question and it has been asked and answered, but I have read and read and pulled my hair out and cannot work it out.

I am starting a fresh thread just to see if there are some people who can help. The old thread was getting messy and I got totally confused. I am so sorry for all those competent people, but networking in the bush is a nightmare.

I have tried to set up a Workgroup, but no good, so I am back to Homegroup and still no good. I really do not care which group I use, as long as it works.

Again I have read and re-done and shared all the drives etc... there is some voodoo in windows. If it were easy there would not be so many posts about networking.

Please guys.... it can be done, can someone please tell me the vital step I am missing

There are 3 PC’s D-PC, T-PC and F-PC. I have setup a whole lot of stuff that I cannot get rid of, like:

I have 3 PC’s all on Win 7 Pro. I have set up a Homegroup. From Main-PC (F-PC) I can see the network map: D-PC; F-PC; T-PC.

F-PC is the main one and I can see the c-drive on D-PC. T-PC will take over from D-PC if I can get it to connect to the network. I have no passwords. I have no idea how I got D-PC to see the network, but I remember it took weeks. Hope I can find a smart person to help.

I get the following errors:

· Window cannot access T-PC
· Problem with wireless adaptor or access point

I keep trying to map the drives, I have some really strange ones for F-PC and I cannot delete these, but when I try to map T-PC it cannot connect.

PLEASE can SOME ONE HELP… I am close a breakdown. My wife is very unhappy…..

Guys

There must be some kind soul who can help???? There are so many posts about networking and they all say different things.... What sort of voodoo am I missing.

I have 3 Win 7 machines. I have Office 2010 I have paid Microsoft the equivalent of thousands of dollars over the last 20-30 years.... why do they make it so hard.......

Can not some kind person help???? It is not rocket science as I stubbled across it on the other PC, but Windows in it devious way, makes you forget why you have done - like the silence in Doctor Who....

Please....

hi Golden

I have read all these. I have set the homegroup up I have taken it down, I have set up the workgroup and I have taken it down. I can share printers, I can print from all 3 PC's, I can access the internet.

I have tried to share all the drive... but T-PC will not share with F-PC. I have used the MS-fixes.... but nothing.

There must be some small thing that they assume you have done - as my friend calls it MS-Voodoo. They make it so hard on purpose....

Again and again I have set it up and pulled it down and set it up again, and read the tutorials and watches the videos... and I have.... if Bill Gates was here I would shoot him for making such a simple thing a problem.

Thank you... but what is the SSDP Service??

You need to read the tutorials....if you had, you would have seen that its a critical service required for homegroups. Its in the red warning box of the first tutorial I linked and impossible to miss, if you had read and followed the tutorials.

Try read and follow the tutorials again - you won't have any success until you do.
