Is there a way to configure Windows 7 to stay logged
in to the user account indefinitely? How? Thx, Gus

Hi,

In what way do you mean? When you log into Windows 7 that's it. You're logged in untill such time that you choose to log out again.

Please give a scenario to explain your exact intention :)

With many updates you will encounter an automatic logg-off. That is unavoidable and required to configure the updates.

Yes, perhaps I wasnt clear. When Im logged in as a user, but the
system the system is idle for a time, it goes back to the login screen
where I have to click on the user icon and enter a password if set
to get back to the Windows desktop. Id like to stay logged in and
on the desktop. This is a home system and theres no security issue.

I am referring to Windows login, and not to the monitor feature to
go to energy saving mode, and not to system shutdown or reboot.

Thx, Gus

It's also worth noting that it doesn't technically log you out, it just asks for the current user password ;)

2nd : under password protection on wakeup click on - change settings that are currently unavailable

Yep, absolutely. It's basically like locking the system when you walk away in a corproate environment, except it is done at a timed interval. It's a simple change in your screensaver settings. I have my home system set to turn off the display after 20 minutes, but that's it.
