New 5.1 Speakers have an echo

I bought some new Logitech X-530 speakers, installed a Trust 5.1 sound card and the drivers. I began watching some films and videos, but I noticed that there was an echo from the rear two speakers. Is that normal and what can I do to fix this?

Can you take a look at what the sound (audio) is set to. Like, is it set for 'canyon', 'hallway', 'outside', or?

I know nothing about that card or its software sadly.

If Jacee's suggestion does not help you may need to check other settings.

For example, there may be settings for speaker postion etc that needs to be set up properly. The rear speakers might be set for a long delay.

Also, Does your source have true 5.1 audio?
If not it may be trying to emulate 5.1 and not doing it properly.
If you have such an option for Stereo signals, try disabling it.

it sounds as if you've got some reverb setting turned off - you'll need to look through your audio control panel to turn it off.

(...or some 5.1 soundtracks do put a lot of reverb on the back speakers at times, to suggest space.)
