Hi. I am going to make sure I try to give you all the information requested when it comes to the BSOD errors.

OS- Windows 7 32 BIT. - This was upgraded 8/10 from place of purchase of laptop. I have the cd.

Original OS Windows Vista.

Have only owned system for a little over 2 years.

OS is only six months old. (Windows Seven)

In a nut shell, I have had 2 hard drives and a motherboard replaced in a little over two years. I think this laptop maybe a lemon. But I figured I would try here first.

I am getting the BSOD about twice a month. I have Tune Up Utilities to check for registry errors and such.

I am running ESET along with Malwarebytes anti-virus software.

Attached is the zip files that you requested. All help is appreciated and I Thank You in advance. :D

It appears ccleaner has removed your mini dump files, the folder contains none.

Software log indicates a massive number of failed update attempts along with crashes and hangs from just about every common app on the computer though.
Let's give a shot at enabling driver verifier to see if that can create some dump files for us. The following link will walk you through that.

yes just run through the bsod instructions again and post a new one. It will hopefully contain some dump files to work off this time.

Okay Thank You.

I will start that I had to 'restore' as my system would not load after doing this. I did see that this may happen, I am just hoping that the files are now still saved.

I did notice in the system where I was to check the drivers, there was a few dump reports.

Here you go!

Just to make sure I also re-entered the drivers for the dump files only.

Please let me know if this helps or you need anything else!:D

dump files aren't really turning up for you. I noticed something you said though.

Remove ESET and replace it with
http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/
Keep Malwarebytes, I do not know of it being the cause of any crashes in win 7. ESET on the other hand I have seen cause issues.

Hmm. Okay. I will do.

Let me ask you, why are the dump files not being recorded? Also, this could be a hardware issue, Yes?

I am asking due to my warranty ending 8/11. In my experience, every time the BSOD starts, I have brought it in and they have had to replace one or more things.

What would be your opinion?

I have no idea why they would replace things - unless if it is really necessary for a purpose reason.

Do you have CCleaner on your computer?

Navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump and copy all of the dump files from that folder to your desktop and zip it up to a .zip file. Then upload it.

Hello All Again-

I don't think I was clear. What I was trying to say, is that every time I have had the BSOD issue, I would bring it in to the place of purchase, and they would always end up finding a hardware issue. Two hard drives and a motherboard. I am just curious if this could be the case again.

Now it seems they are more frequent. Usually it would be once to twice a month. Now I had one happen last night and this evening. I have tried to go to c:\windows\minidump and there is a folder, but it is empty. :sarc:

I went ahead and tried the test that is posted here again. If nothing is recorded, how and where do I change this, so the next time it IS recorded and we have something to work with.

Thank you all in advance. ;)

Have you run a memtest on it?
I notice the hdd and mobo have been replaced, and it's possible this is a memory problem.
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105647-ram-test-memtest86.html
That's the test just set it to run when you go to sleep it should run for 5-7 passes, (it takes some time, unless you get error's right off the bat, then you can just quit) should for the most part confirm if the ram is the problem or not.

Uninstall TuneUp Utilites. Windows 7 does not require a TuneUp utility. It will not speed up your system - in fact, the system will slow down.

Take care of those - there are more old drivers.

Hi Guys!

Okay so I am burning the cd now. Quick question- if it does show errors- I read that I should take out certain ram (s)? I can not do this... Correct? If this is the case than I need to take it in?

there is likely 2 chips in that thing, one of them easy to get at through a little bottom door and the other probably located under the keyboard that gets a little more complicated. If it happens to be the easily accessible one you can probably manage with a small enough screwdriver.

Thanks Mag.

So I ran it through all night and all looks good. It had 8 passes.

My question to you or Dean is that I was told to remove TuneupUtiltities because W7 does not need this. However, after I did install, it removed quite a bit of mess, resulting in more hard disk space and such. What is a good registry cleaner if any? Does W7 have this that I am not aware of?

Also, is there a way to 'stress test' my system, along with checking to see if my hard disk is going?

Thank You again to both of you.

:)

If you want to test your HDD, use SeaTools from SeaGate: | Seagate
I have replied your private message.

Use CCleaner as I said in the private message you sent.
Just make sure CCleaner won't delete the mini dump files (you can do this by changing in settings).

Glad we could help. :)
Let us know if you need anything else.
