Asus Z87-Pro
i7 4770k
Geforce GTX 650 TI
8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 Pro series ram (Blue)
Current Hdrive running is 500GB WD (New)
Running Windows 7 64 bit

Temperature runs at around 40C

About 5 weeks ago i brought all of the above for my new build. Running fine for about a day, then it started Rebooting Randomly. Been through all the reports will no luck solving the issue, reloaded windows, took Ram out, swooped ram around, triple checked connections, and run Memtest86 which come back clear. Basically you name it i have tried it including playing around with the Fan speeds. Yet my PC is still randomly restarting which seems to happen quicker once the pc has been on for so long, When machine is cold it takes awhile to reboot, the longer its on the more it reboots on login. I have even had it reboot while using the bios. Anybody got any idea's to what the issue is please?

Hi balckpanther,

If the system is rebooting while in the BIOS then I would say your problem is hardware
related as this is before the OS loads. So you can rule out software if that is the case.

1. Are you overclocking anything at all?
2. Do you hear any POST beeps during boot?
3. Re-check the CPU is seated correctly?
4. PSU? Is the Power supply adequate?

Stress Test:

Hardware - Stress Test With Prime95: :ar: Hardware - Stress Test With Prime95
CPU - Stress Test Using IntelBurnTest: :ar: CPU - Stress Test Using IntelBurnTest
Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark: :ar: Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark

Monitor temperature of the system during the tests (with speccy or hwmonitor listed earlier)

Temperature:

For monitoring heat of the system, use Speccy or HWMonitor:

Also reset all BIOS settings to default.

Cheers

Dave

Don't shout...I've got a Hangover!
No im not into the overclocking idea.
No unexpected noises or bleeps.
CPU goes in very tight but im happy with it as seems to be no issue with it being seated.
I have a 750W Power supply from corsair.

the pc has just restarted again so i will give it a little while to cool down again then i will try the stress factor links. Had enough time to reinstall google chrome before rebooting.

No problem :) may be a good idea if still under warranty.

I was gonna suggest this:

Have you a spare working PSU and lead you can try for this?:

Unplugging all peripherals and devices from the computer
and booting with a barebones system:

Use minimum RAM
Remove all PCIe cards (Graphics/sound etc)
Remove all USB devices (except keyboard)
Remove any non-essential peripherals

Then boot your computer in and see if issue remains?

If it boots then you will need to reconnect each component one at a time
and test until the problem reoccurs in order to identify the cause.

There is still a possibility that it may be software, if the restart only happened once
in BIOS, as this is not enough evidence, and it may have been a brief power outage.

But I would barebones it first :D

Cheers

Dave
