I don't really have a reason, but I keep seeing 3 new release threads a day with 500 comments requesting links...

You don't need to download every version, especially since most don't have major changes. You end up spending a lot of time updating and having programs break from being exposed to constant upgrades, creating artificial "bugs".

If you want to be helping testing, look more for new beta Win7 driver and program releases, not Win7 builds. If you just want Win7 for normal use, find a stable version and stick with it for a while. Most of them are pretty stable... if you notice that one release especially has a lot of changes, or fixes a bug you have, then by all means upgrade, but otherwise don't be downloading the next build while installing one.

Do your part and test drivers and programs. Those make up the bulk of Windows issues.

yes, i agree to this. There is no point in upgrading our OS to every build that MS releases especially when there are so minimal changes.

stop talking crazy!

however i do agree 500 posts asking for links are annoying, everyone can use 2 or 3 basic searchers (like if its not on mininova/tbp you try bing! (or google)) and find it them self :<

do you consider your build you are runing is compleatly bug free? if you do fine, then you dont have reason to update, however i dont and i update in hope of 2 bugs i have gets fixed that are kinda annoying if they stay in RTM (and are actualy not some bad driver/software fault).

Yes, i completely agree with you Solor, if you indeed have bugs in your build and want a good riddance of it, then it makes, but for me RC 7100 has been very stable indeed without a problem :)

There are a lot of build junkies here (myself included) LOL. The advantages of running with the latest build is that your running closer to RTM, meaning that there will be less changes between the build your running & the final release. That will allow for you to guage what issues (if any) may still be present when Windows 7 is released to the general public.

Such guaging will also help you overcome these issues easier and sooner than if you just wait for the release & find out that all your favorite games & apps don't work or need tweaking in order to function 100% in Windows 7 after spending $300. <- ficticious figure but probably close to the mark :p

There are a lot of build junkies here (myself included) LOL.

I'm in recovery :p

Personally, by the time I hit 7100/7201, 99% of the show stopping bugs for me had been resolved and I finally had a 'working' OS I could live with. I actually started to use the OS

I could then easily ask myself "Do I really need to try a new build, when this current installation is nice and stable?"

Instead of a resounding "yes!", the answers started to become "No. You can skip this one".

Although I certainly still get the itch ;)

I would have the bug of upgrading but the hospital free wifi won't allow me to run torrent software or have access to where win 7 is. So for all the people who know me yes I am back in the hospital with another problem with the kidney and now something to do with my spleen.

i personally think that upgrading from every build is silly.. if you go lest say from 7229 to 7232... or 7127 to 7137.. that doesn make much sense to me..
if you go from 7000 to 7100 or 7100 to 7201..then ok, that is a difference and makes sense definately, but switching between almost same builds... who should have the nerves to setup everything again each week lol...

I only see the point of moving to new builds if it introduces a new feature or fixes a bug that you are experiencing.

I stopped at Build 7264... it was getting crazy!

Thankfully I started using DVD+RW discs so I wouldn't be wasting DVD+R discs so much. :geek:

I am waiting for RTM release and go from there. We even may see changes by the time the general release to public in Oct. occurs.
