For those of you that don't know, longhorn was the codename for Vista.
Sounds Good!

Do you mean that you will start to build this within an hour or do you mean that it will take you only one hour to build?

Nice build. But I would have added a 60GB SSD for the OS. Makes things really fast.

Not so sure about mixing the brand of memory and size of sticks, if you get any stability issues in the future that would be the 1st place I would look.

Apart from that looks good.

And yeah I agree with whs, a SSD is a great upgrade to go for in the future if you want to speed it up some.

Seems good, i have a simlar setup to yours except, i have a much better graphics card but i have 8 gb of ram not 12 gb of ram, anyway - it seems good to me :)

I would have loved to, believe me ;) but I was on a limited budget :p

Maybe in the future I might get an SSD. Also, so far no problems with the mixing of RAM. All is detected :D

Thank you all :)

Looks good. An SSD will benefit it though. And I'm not entirely sure what you need 12GB RAM for.

It's funny, ram is so cheap nowadays you buy 8 or 12GB, but you have no idea what, or if, you can take advantage of it.

Personally, I like to play with new software, so I give 2GB out of my 8GB to a virtual machine to test them.

Even worse, once you buy a ssd, win7 is supposed to disable superfetch, so more ram is going to waste.

Unless you have not updated your System Specs my graphics card crushes yours lol

Wow, very good build, but for now I can't afford it yet...

I tried to keep it cheap actually. I got the GPU, PSU, and case from my dad (he builds computers too) which saved me a lot of money. I bought everything else, and it cost me (in total) $520.

Similar to you, I have the 1100T, and man talk about a great bang-for-the-buck CPU!! :D

I have the 1090T. I was considering the 1100T first, but I wanted a better motherboard so I had to go with the 1090T. Either way they are excellent CPUs!:)

Yeah, I've got to say, my Phenom 1100T and ATI 5870 graphics combo (with an ASUS motherboard) is by far the most stable setup I've had in a long time. I have a lot of games in my collection, and I can't remember the last time I had driver issues or anything like that.

I really want the Radeon 7000 series to come out so that the price drops on the 6970 -- I'd like to upgrade to one of those.
