Windows says Network Controller hasn't got a driver. When it tries to install it - fails.

Details: Driver updates aren't automatically installed when detected by Windows Update .

Below that shows computer name and version 6.1 amd64

I have contacted the seller and he said to go to the Gigabyte board which I did but cant see this and also have no idea how to install a driver. I also checked on the thread where all motherboard drivers are listed. Didn't see anything worded as a Network Controller driver. :(

Previously I always used Driver Genius Pro to install drivers but seller told me all of these type of programs for cleaning or registry or changing are dangerous. Thing is they do the job and install them never gave me a problem on my Dell PC which had only 512mb and told too old to update. Cheaper to buy new one.

Problem also is windows keeps trying to install it.

Help:confused:

Hi, Welcome to forums.

Go here ==> GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 1155 - GA-H61M-USB3H (rev. 1.0)

Select your OS (Win 7 64 bit)

In the list, look for LAN

Under LAN, download the "Realtek LAN Driver" according to your area. You select APAC. It will be a .exe file. Run that file. If it asks to reboot the PC, do it. Once the PC is on again. Drivers will be installed.

"Network Controller" usually indicates the wifi adapter. I'm guessing you need the wireless network driver.

("Ethernet Controller" implies LAN)

If still having any problem locating the driver let us know.

/* EDIT */
Oh. I just looked at the drivers on the link to the board provided earlier? I dodn't see a wifi driver.

I do have a wireless card on board in case I ever go WIFI - and doing the re-intall found that the disc itself is very small nothing like the size of usual - so not sure what to do about that too.

Meanwhile I have been able to get down and install the necessary driver - did that on the last few MB of my monthly allowance - so late coming to thank you all for the help on that one. :D Slowed to 64bps. :sick:
