New computer BSOD everytime I play a game

I just got a new computer the other day. Custom built pc. I built it with gaming in mind. Everything seems to run fine, except when I try to play games.

A couple games will simply just crash to the desktop, while one in particular, Tera Online, will give me a BSOD. Often anywhere from a minute to 20 minutes into playing.

I've done a lot of research and troubleshooting over the last 2 days and I think I know the issue, I just have no idea how to fix it.

The blue screen error I get is System_Service_Exception. In event viewer at the time of the crash, it says this: The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000003b (0x00000000c0000005, 0xfffff80002f0625a, 0xfffff88018712eb0, 0x0000000000000000). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 020813-19141-01.

I've already reinstalled windows once.

I also got a program called bluescreenview and this is what it showed up, http://i.imgur.com/la7v3uz.jpg

The top most red highlighted one seems to have to do with Broadcom Netlink, but those drivers are up to date. 100% sure. Device manager says they are, I installed them from the motherboard disk, and I looked online and the latest version I see of that is the one I have. The other one, I guess is a CPU thing? I'm not sure. But I have not overclocked my CPU or anything. It should still be set at default. I haven't touched it and when I am in Tera the speed seems to be fine.

I also know it's not overheating as I have 4 fans in my pc not including the 2 on the graphics card itself and with the fact that the game crashes so fast, it wouldn't have time to overheat.

Also keep in mind too that other games have crashed, just not as badly as this one. Others will take a longer time to crash and will just do it to the desktop.

I've attached my dxdiag as well if it helps. I'm at a loss right now and after 2 straight says of trying to fix this, I'm almost ready to give up.

As I told you in my first post, it is Broadcom NetLink Gigabit Ethernet NDIS6.x Unified Driver that is failing here.

The display driver is also failing.

Update your ATI/AMD display driver.
You can get it from the link in our forum, http://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-...alyst-video-driver-windows-7-a.html#post17671, or you may go to AMD Graphics Driver and Software and opt for Automatically Detect and Install the appropriate driver for your card.
ATI_zps0bc28aaa.jpg

During installation, you may opt for advanced installation, and install the display driver only, not the Catalyst Control Center.

Also Test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.

Let us know the results.

Wow and here my computer was telling me it was up to date and somehow in my search I couldn't find another version!

Ok, so stupid question is how do I install this driver, since it doesn't seem to be an .exe when I download it.

Also with the display drivers, I'm not sure I understand that because I already went to their website and got the latest one, did I do something wrong? Should I try and install it again?

The autodetect shows a driver from 2011. Is that right? Should that still be ok?

Ok, I updated both drivers, but still had a BSOD after about 5 min of playing the game. This time the error was: Driver_IRQL_Not_less_or_Equal.

This is what showed in bluescreenview: http://i.imgur.com/xx9IU9p.png

and I attached another zip if you need that too.

Do some general USB related troubleshooting. For the port, first, uninstall and reinstall the USB ports drivers.

  1. Right click on Computer icon > manage. It will open the computer management window.
  2. Click on "Device Manager" in the left pane, it will list all installed devices up.
  3. Expand "USB Serial Bus Controllers" by clicking on the triangle in front of it.
  4. Click on one item to select, then right click and uninstall.
  5. Do the same for all.
  6. Restart the computer.
  7. At restart, windows will auto configure the appropriate drivers.
And, Disable USB Selective Suspense too.
USB Selective Suspend - Turn On or Off

For the devices, first, detach all the USB devices other than the keyboard and mouse.
Then, Update the drivers for them all, including the keyboard and mouse, if any third party drivers are installed for them.

How do I disable all the usb drivers when it just makes my keyboard and mouse stop working. None of the usbs listed seems to specify which one will turn it off. But I can't uninstall them all when suddenly my mouse won't work anymore.

I was forced to reboot when my mouse and keyboard stopped working and then when I came back, there was a usb controller listed in other devices with a yellow triangle next to it.

I told you not to disable but to uninstall. At what point it will be done, after the reinstall, everything will de auto installed.

Post a screenshot of the Device manager, so that I can understand which one is the problem there.

I looked into my motherboard drivers and saw that I didn't have a 3.0 usb driver installed so I thought I'd install that and it seems the usb in "other" turned into a usb root hub but still has the triangle. Trying to update the drivers it states it it already up to date.

The drivers were for ASMedia USB3.0

It does never cause a problem for me.

If that is controlling any USB device, when you will connect the device, it will be automatically installed. Otherwise, you may try to update the device again, putting the motherboard's driver CD in the drive.

Pretty sure I updated all I needed to from the motherboard's driver CD. This time the game just crashed to desktop, but honestly that doesn't mean anything, I've had it do that on rare occasions and yet still blue screen majority of the time.

I don't know where to go from here. Especially because I couldn't uninstall all the usb drivers like you asked because it turned off my mouse and keyboard and I promise I wasn't hitting disable, esp when some of them didn't even have the option to disable them, there was only the option to uninstall.

What should I do now?

I can use it after reboot cause it reinstalls the drivers. The issue is that before i can uninstall all the drivers, a few of them seem to shut off the mouse and keyboard and i don't know how to prevent that from happening so I can go through and uninstall all of those like you directed me to.

I can't do anything if I have no way of controlling the computer =/

What you have done so far is OK.
Disable the Selective Suspense now.

Update the versions of the USB device drivers. If you are not sure what to do, download and run USBDeview.
Make the window full screen, and upload a screenshot here, we will guide you what to do next.

I seem to have updated everything and I turned selective suspense off and even did more outside troubleshooting and still nothing was working.

I noticed though a lot of people that have spoken to me, or just sources i've looked at online were talking about memory being an issue. Some saying it might be faulty. Well I messed with some things in my computer, cause also this is the first time I've built my own pc so I had this nagging feeling that maybe it wasn't something on the computer itself but something inside done wrong.

So after messing with it I "think" the ram wasn't in right. Cause I tested it after that and I was able to play all night. No BSOD for hours.

It's kind of annoying to think I've been stressing so hard over this for 2 days and all it seems to of been was something installed wrong. It's amazing what issues it can cause.

If I happen to, god forbid, run into a BSOD soon again, I'll come back. Other then that I think it's fixed.

Still, Arc, thank you so much for taking the time out to be so helpful to me. I appreciate it. :) I think I've also learned a lot. hehe
