i have just recently purchased a computer from ibuypower. specs in my profile. i had the thing for two days then i got the bsod. i tried diagnosing the problem myself even changed the video card from the ati i bought with it. Ibuypower's tech support was no help so i had to send the computer back.:cry: 4 weeks later i get the thing back, use it for ten minutes, and i have the same bsod. i call back ibuypower, they replaced the memory and updated the bios on the motherboard. its been 3 months dealing with this and ibuypower doesnt even want to refund my money. i can't get it to stop freezing PLEASE HELP!!!!

i have tried uninstalling and reinstalling every driver i could think of. the bios on my motherboard has been updated. all 4 memory sticks have been replaced, and a diffrent video card.
every diagnostic program i have run cannot find anything wrong with it. and it doesnt freeze consistently. mainly when having multiple windows open running heavy grafix.

You said it was new. Can you get in touch with some authority like the Customer service Supervisor or Manager?
Get them to take it back or get your money back. IMO

I suggest a clean install, to be honest. You may have a corrupted install, and in addition, I see a relatively high-risk program installed.

If a clean install is not feasible, do a repair install, and be sure to remove Norton completely and replace with MSE: http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials

If you do a clean install, do not install Norton. Use MSE instead.

i did talk with customer service. they will not give me a full refund, only partial. they were not helpfull at all. i was gonna make my wife call and raise hell but i was hoping i could fix it.

king-
i did try to uninstall every thing. i mean EVERYTHING. at first i put all my programs on the machine but after crashing so much our first assumption was it was software. so i have updated drivers and bios, reformated the hardrive and reinstalled windows, several times. once it crashed during the install. so i formated and reinstalled again. i could make it crash with only windows and internet explorer. same error message.

so we figured it wasnt an install problem, so we replaced the video card and reformated and reinstalled, same problem. we replaced the ram, reformated and reinstalled, same problem. new fan on the case, same problem. i used each of my monitors seperately and together, crashes again. diffrent keyboard, mouse, speakers, everything has been uninstalled and reinstalled.

Go higher in the food chain to raise hell with.
Do not stop until you are completely 100% satisfied!
It's your hard earned dollars paying for it so go after them.

Hi -

Did the system manufacturer provide you with Windows 7 recovery DVDs or are you running a full retail version Windows 7?

I noticed these NEC USB 3.0 drivers -
Code:
[FONT=lucida console]nusb3hub.sys Fri Nov 20 05:15:57 2009 (4B066C5D) - NEC Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller Driver [/FONT]
[FONT=lucida console]nusb3xhc.sys Fri Nov 20 05:16:01 2009 (4B066C61) - NEC Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller Driver [/FONT]

Where did they come from? Do you install them post-Windows 7 reinstall or are they on the Windows 7 DVD?

I would wipe the HDD with KillDisk, reinstall Windows 7 again.

KillDisk --> Format HDD jcgriff2.com

See if driver update available -
Code:
[FONT=lucida console]gdrv.sys     Thu Mar 12 23:22:29 2009 (49B9D175) - Gigabyte Easy Saver - mobo power utility driver[/FONT]

After Windows 7 reinstall, allow ALL Windows Updates in. Also, given the numerous changes in hardware, validate the OS at Microsoft WGA site -

Windows Updates --> www.update.microsoft.com

Microsoft WGA --> www.microsoft.com/genuine

Should problems persist, please provide additional system information. Follow the instructions, attach the resulting zip file(s) to your next post.

BSOD Kernel Dump & System File Collection - jcgriff2.com

After attaching zip files, run the Driver Verifier -

Driver Verifier --> Driver Verifier - jcgriff2.com

Doing the above will hopefully help us to determine if software is a viable culprit or not.

Regards. . .

jcgriff2

now ive run p95. it ran for 24 hours. all tests passed. i dont know if there is a readout i can post to you guys from that, but it didn't find or cause a problem.

the usb3.0 is on the motherboard. i did not install any additional programs or drivers for the usb3.0

i seriusly doubt it is a software issue because we have been trying ten ways from sunday to fix it like that. but i also understand having absolutes for the sake of diagnosing the problem. i will use killdisk and wipe my hardrive. then reinstall windows from the storebought disk i have. i will update and validate again.

From there we will have a guarantee that it is not a previus software problem, right?

then i will use internet explorer and make it crash again. i know it will. then i will post those logs and we can go from there.

If it still crashes with the same error after that then it is almost definitely a hardware issue.
