New copy of a running program

Hi everyone,

I try to run two or three copies of Google Earth at the same time. But, although, I click on the icon in the taskbar, alone or holding shift, I was unable to open another copy.

Is there any way to run another copy of a running program in Win 7?

you can run it multiple times within the web browser, but on the app itself.

It will write a file to the registry, so opening another one it will jsut see that file and know its open. Not sure if there is a way to make it rename the file each time though..

I don't know whether or not Google Earth specificially allows multiple instances of itself to run, but in general, what you do is rightclick on the taskbar button (for the already running instance).
This will bring up a small context menu with the first option being the program itself. Simply click that, and a new instance will open and run in parallel.

hi Durdurun, and welcome to sevenforums,

if your mouse has a middle scroll-wheel button, try clicking your taskbar icon with that.

it works with most programs, but some software is written so that only one instance can be run.

Unfortunately, I had tried all, right click on taskbar and middle roller of the mouse. Google Earth does not allow. I look for the options or customize inside but still nothing found.

I don't want to download Google earth just to try it ....... but have you tried opening another browser tab? Or even another browser?

To open multiple folders, there is no problem. Seems just for Google Earth.

Since Google earth is pretty resource intensive my guess is your choking the CPU/RAM here...
