New Dell 7 Ultimate 64 bit COA, no disc

I have the COA(OE Dell) with a 25 letter/number product key that is new/unused and want to use it for a computer I have just built but have no Windows disc to load. The version number of the COA is x16-96011 and I have been unable to find a copy of it anywhere. I have read about the all version disc that can be made and know where to download 32 and 64 bit versions(different to mine) of 7 Ultimate and was wondering if it is possible to do that to make a loadable version that would work with my COA as a clean install on a new hard drive. Hope someone can help me on this as it is nearly impossible to get "real" programs here in Thailand and customs double the price if you buy it overseas.

The Dell OEM manufacturer COA can only be used on the Dell PC.

That key should work with any dvd which installs the matching EDITION (e.g. Ultimate). You can do a clean reinstall on that Dell machine if you like.

Where did that key come from? Did you buy it as unbundled from a european seller? I have no idea what the rules are in Thailand.

yep, its from a german seller, I was fool enough to believe that it was loadable on any "new" computer as advertized but the Dell cd is a reinstallation cd(not specified in the ad) & will not do anything other than start the load as per a reinstall then it asks for the drivers which I cannot supply and the ones I have are not recognized as it is not a dell set up.

The COA is new and therefore I was wondering if I could use an all versions disc that is mentioned in the forum. There are websites that do have downloads of 7 ultimate 32 and 64 bit but not the X16.96011 version, they have the X17 versions only if they will still work with X16 COA's.

Buying new "genuine" software in Thailand is near impossible as ever shop sells pirate stuff and I am unable to find a genuine 7 Ultimate anywhere except ebay. Thai customs is also another major problem as they double the price of anything if they dont keep it themselves but thats another story.

I have been here 2 years and my computer with xp pro on it is on its last legs(thai customs kept all the software etc when it came over) so I built a new one but want a better system but not 8, 7 ultimate looks to be the best option after xp.
I am stuck for options if I cannot get this to work.
