New Dell Latitude screen flash - because you'se guys know all

A new Dell Latitude, Win 7 ( seems diff version from my older inspiron.) Anyhow, capturing audio, via Audicity, from youtube album track 'videos'. Every once in awhile, ?random? , the screen will flash, like the flash on a camera! I have postit notes over the camera and mic's. ANY clues what causes it ( and how to prevent it ) Thanks any and all.

I would be contacting Dell. That sounds more like a hardware problem.

Not exactly sure it's a hardware issue, but I'd definitely be contacting Dell, this reddit thread is blaming it on a Multi-Stream Transport (MST) Hub Firmware update. You may not have multiple displays, but the capability is there and it sounds like it's driving with bad firmware which causes your flickering.

Before I'd use the original poster's firmware update [3.10.001] at the bottom in EDIT 6: (4/21/16), I'd see if Dell has it or a newer one listed on their site otherwise you use his at your own risk.

I would of helped you locate the firmware on the Dell site, but you have incomplete system specs, such as model# of laptop.
