new dell w/windows 7 crashes

new laptop crashed. when I restored it now startes in Recovery C: drive instead of OS D: drive. Have tried to use CD to restore but can't get it to change drives. Anyone have help.

After the recovery cd finishes searching for installations, click Next.

Select command prompt.

Type:

Diskpart

then press enter.

lis vol

then press enter - make an note of exactly what it says and post it back here.

Exi

then press enter.

Hi,

Try marking D as the active partition.

Boot the 7 dvd to command prompt.

Type:

diskpart

sel vol d

act

exi.
