whenever I try to open up a folder it says

"This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel."

So, I went and did that, explorer.exe was the default program, I saved the settings tried again, did not work. Tried restarting, no luck. explorer.exe is still in the system it was not deleted.

I can open folders as long as its in the side bar or through "going to file location" but never by clicking on it. Help??

Hello Subdisease, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Download and merge the Directory and Folder options in the tutorial below. It will restore the default associations for them and hopefully allow you to be able to open folders again after the restart.

Default File Type Associations - Restore

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Thanks! That worked, I wonder what was wrong, this problem happened after I downloaded and started up filezilla.

You're most welcome. It sounds like it was assigned as the new default program.
